Revision: Examples
Large nose tip
This young man had previous surgery done on his nose by a plastic surgeon. It is understandable that the patient was unhappy with his long, large nasal tip. The photographs were taken 16 months after the revision operation.
Within the scope of a revision operation, I reconstructed the nasal pyramid and, in the process, repositioned and raised the nasal tip. Now the nasal pyramid blends straight with the nasal tip. As a result of the newly shaped nose, the patient's face looks balanced and more masculine again.
After the external nose operation, the nasal tip was overly wide and the area of the nasal wings too narrow. The narrowness had also markedly obstructed the patient's nasal breathing. Through the revision operation, the shape of the nasal wings could be improved and the nasal breathing re-established.
In this diagonal view, the drooping proportion of the nasal tip takes centre stage. This has to do with the asymmetry of the nose shape. In our revision operation, I redesigned the shape of the nose so it became symmetrical. The raised nasal tip also makes the face appear more youthful.
Kink in the nasal tip
This man underwent surgery by a general plastic surgeon with the aim to straighten his nasal pyramid and reduce his nasal tip. A scarred indentation in the area of the nasal columella ocurred after the operation. The patient's nasal breathing had also deteriorated. The After pictures were taken a year after the operation.
I used tissue from the patient's own body to fully reconstruct the nasal tip and the nostrils as well as re-establish undisturbed nasal breathing.
Angular nasal tip
Another surgeon previously performed an operation on this young woman's nose. She was unhappy with the outcome: the hump in the three-quarter view and the angular extension of the nasal tip bothered her. Furthermore, nasal breathing was obstructed after the initial surgery. The pictures were taken 12 months after the revision operation.
For the revision operation, I had to make an incision through the nasal columella and reconstruct the whole nasal framework.
I straightened the nasal pyramid and refined the nasal tip. The angle between nasal columella and lips was slightly reduced, which accentuates the upper lip.
The disturbing gradient between bony and cartilaginous nasal pyramid was aligned. I then reduced the prominent lower part of the nasal tip, which refined the contours of the nose.
In the revision operation, I lifted the base of the nasal pyramid, providing additional harmony. The contours of the right nasal wing improved after the revision operation; however, they were not quite perfect. This could have been corrected under local anaesthesia; however, the client declined. The nasal tip now remains in place when the patient laughs.
Prominent nasal tip
This young man had already been operated twice by a plastic surgeon. The client was dissatisfied with the results as the prominent nasal tip troubled him.
During the revision operation, I set the nasal tip into correct alignment with the nasal pyramid. I reduced the size of the nasal tip, rounded it off and reduced the view into the nostril.
During the external nose operation, an incision was made through the nasal columella. I was able to correct this scar and reorganise the nostrils so they appear more symmetrical.
In the detailed view from the front, the harmonious rounding of the underside of the nasal tip is also evident.
Nasal pyramid
Cartilaginous nasal pyramid
This young woman previously had a nasal hump removed by another surgeon. This resulted in an aesthetically-disturbing indentation in the nasal pyramid and obstructed her nasal breathing.
I re-formed the pyramid of the nose and improved the nasal breathing. The nasal tip no longer looks chubby and the straight nasal pyramid harmonises the nose and the entire face. After the reparative operation, the patient's face looks more delicate and feminine.
Gradients in the nasal pyramid
This lady had a hump on her nose removed by another surgeon. The marks of this operation are clearly visible. The cartilaginous nasal pyramid curves to the left (from the patient's perspective) and there is a disturbing gradient on the bony nasal pyramid. The After pictures were taken 14 months after the operation.
During the revision operation, I reconstructed the nasal pyramid with tissue from the patient's own body. As a result, the nasal septum became more balanced and the nasal pyramid line from the eyebrows to the tip of the patient's nose became more harmonious. I also reconstructed the nasal pyramid between the eyes and lowered the cartilaginous nasal septum area. As a result, the shape of the nose is more harmonious.
You can clearly see that the nasal pyramid has been raised up to eye level. Raising the nasal tip has taken years off the patient's facial expression. The nasal tip also does not drop any more when she laughs.
Overly narrow nose
Another surgeon performed a nose operation on this young lady on two occasions. This resulted in an overly narrow nasal pyramid and obstructed nasal breathing. The nasal tip was irregular and too prominent. The After pictures were taken 14 months after the operation.
I widened the nasal atrium to improve nasal breathing. The tip of the nose, on the other hand, was rounded off slightly. The patient did not want the asymmetry of the nasal wings to be corrected. Despite this, the shape of the patient's nose looked much more harmonious after corrective surgery.
In the view before the revision operation, the narrow nasal pyramid with the restricted nasal atrium is obvious. The narrow nose makes normal nasal breathing impossible. The irregularity in the area of the nasal tip before the revision operation is noticeable.
Hump nose
A plastic surgeon performed a nose operation on this young lady. She was very unhappy with the results. She was justifiably disturbed by the hump above the nasal tip. The nasal tip was also rough in shape and the nasal wings were asymmetrical. The pictures were taken 15 months after our revision operation.
I straightened the nasal pyramid as part of our revision operation. The tip of the patient's nose has become slimmer. I was able to reshape the nasal tip to give it a more harmonious form, and I restructured the nasal wings so they became more symmetrical.
After the external initial operation, there was a disturbing profile hook, which I straightened as part of our revision operation. As a result, the patient's whole face regained its prior balanced proportions.
Nasal wings
A common consequence of an incorrectly performed nose operation are raised nasal wings. The nasal wings are reminiscent of the shape of a bird's beak.
Another surgeon had performed a nose operation on this lady, who was very unhappy with the new shape of her nose. During the operation, I was able to bring the nasal wings into their natural position with tissue from the patient's own body.
